CATEGORY MANAGER - INDIRECT PROCUREMENT
FUNCTIONAL CONTENT
Main Role
The Indirect Procurement Category Manager is responsible for developing and executing Indirect Procurement Categories of Services and products within ESTEVE. This role ensures optimal supplier performance, cost efficiency, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement across these critical indirect spend areas. The position partners closely with OPEX owners and requestors of products and servcies from Production, Engineering, EHS, Facilities Management, Finance, and other business stakeholders to align procurement strategies with ESTEVE’s operational priorities, quality standards, and sustainability commitments.
Responsibilities
Category Strategy & Planning:

- Develop, implement, and continuously refine the strategy of the categories under scope .
- Conduct spend analysis, market research, and risk assessments to identify opportunities for cost optimization, innovation, and value creation.
- Align category plans with ESTEVE’s operational, financial, and sustainability objectives.
Strategic Sourcing & Contracting:

- Lead end‑to‑end sourcing processes, including RFI/RFP/RFQ design, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract award.
- Drive value through competitive bidding, negotiation of commercial terms, total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluation, and contract lifecycle management.
- Ensure contracts reflect operational, quality, compliance, and safety requirements specific to pharmaceutical environments.
- Supplier Relationship & Performance Management:
- Manage key supplier relationships to ensure delivery performance, service quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with strategic partners.
- Monitor supplier KPIs and SLAs and address performance deviations proactively.
Cross-functional Collaboration:

- Act as the primary business partner for stakeholders
- Support OPEX projects with sourcing expertise and supplier insights.
- Ensure strong alignment between procurement initiatives and functional area requirements.
Risk Management:

- Ensure suppliers adhere to GxP, EHS, sustainability, and legal requirements applicable to the pharmaceutical sector.
- Identify and mitigate operational, supply, and financial risks within the category.
- Promote ESTEVE’s sustainability agenda through responsible sourcing, waste reduction initiatives, and energy efficiency programs.
Reporting:

- Track and report category savings, cost avoidance, and value creation initiatives.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and drive procurement excellence practices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date category data, contract records, and procurement documentation.

JOB PROFILE
Required Studies
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
Other specialized knowledge
- Strong negotiation and contracting skills.
- Solid understanding of OPEX procurement and technical services.
- Experience with strategic sourcing methodologies and category management frameworks.
- Knowledge of GxP, EHS standards, and sustainability requirements in pharma is highly valued.
- Proficiency in procurement systems (SAP/Ariba/Coupa or similar).
Languages
- Fluent in Spanish & English (3rd Eruopean language a plus)
Professional experience
- 5+ years of procurement/category management experience, ideally in a pharmaceutical, chemical, or manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record in managing indirect categories
- Experience managing industrial investments.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on problem‑solving capabilities.
