1. FUNCTIONAL CONTENT

 

Main Role

 

The Global Head of Demand Planning is responsible for leading the global demand planning function and orchestrating the end-to-end Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process across all markets. This role ensures accurate forecasting, close coordination with Supply Planning and Opperations looking for optimal inventory levels. Alignment between commercial, supply chain, and finance teams to support strategic decision[1]making and operational excellence

 

Roles

 

  • Demand Planning & Forecasting:
    • Lead the global demand planning process, ensuring accurate short-, mid-, and long-term forecasts across all product portfolios.
    • Collaborate with regional and affiliate teams to consolidate demand signals and align with commercial strategies.
    • Drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy and bias reduction through data analytics and stakeholder engagement.
    • Own, enhance and implement forecasting tools, systems, and methodologies

 

  • Sales & Operations Planning (S&Op)
    • Design, implement, and lead the global S&OP cycle, ensuring cross-functional alignment on demand, supply, inventory, and financial targets.
    • Facilitate monthly S&OP meetings with executive stakeholders, presenting scenarios, risks, and recommendations.
    • Integrate demand planning with supply planning, finance, and commercial inputs to support strategic decision-making.
    • Monitor KPIs such as forecast accuracy, inventory turns, service levels, and working capital

 

  • Leadership & Strategy
    • Build and lead a high-performing global demand planning team.
    • Act as a strategic partner to commercial, finance, and supply chain leadership.
    • Develop and execute a 3–5 year roadmap for demand planning and S&OP maturity, aligned with corporate objectives.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and digital innovations in planning

3.JOB PROFILE

 

Required Studies:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Master´s degree or specialized certification preferred.

 

Other specialized knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in demand planning, forecasting, and
  • S&OP within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in demand planning software, enterprise resource planning
  • (ERP) systems, and other relevant analytical tools (SAP)
  • Excel proficiency
  • Strong knowledge of planning systems (e.g., SAP IBP, APO, OMP, Kinaxis) 

 

Languages:

  • Fluent in Spanish and English (3rd European language a plus) 

 

Professional experience:

  • At least 5-7 years of proven experience in demand planning, forecasting, and customer service, in similar leadership positions (Pharma or Consumer Health)
  • Experience in process improvement, lean management, and implementing best practices
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in demand planning
  • Leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams, drive change,and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven leadership in global matrix organizations.
