1. FUNCTIONAL CONTENT
Main Role
As Global Head of Medical Affairs, you will be responsible for setting the global medical strategy and leading its execution across the Onco Peds Innovatice model portfolio.
You will drive strategic leadership, ensure medical-scientific excellence, and partner cross-functionally to enable evidence generation, scientific engagement and access across key markets. Reporting to the Medical Affairs VP, you will be instrumental in advancing ESTEVE’s leadership in pediatric oncology and ensuring strong alignment between global and local medical teams.
Roles
Your key responsibilities will include:
Strategic Leadership & Portfolio Ownership

Define and lead the global medical affairs strategy for the Onco Peds Innovative Model.

Drive the scientific narrative and evidence generation priorities (e.g., RWE, investigator-initiated studies).

Lead strategic planning, lifecycle support, and scientific positioning of the portfolio.

Partner with R&D, Commercial, Access, and Regulatory to shape integrated strategies.
Team Leadership & Talent Development

Lead and develop a high-performing global medical team (L5 & L4), fostering scientific excellence, accountability, and a growth mindset.

Promote knowledge sharing, medical-scientific integrity, and cross-regional alignment.

Mentor team members and manage medical trainees, supporting their development as future medical leaders.
Global-Local Medical Partnership

Build strong partnerships with affiliate medical affairs teams to ensure consistent execution of global strategies.

Provide scientific guidance, training, and strategic input for local medical teams.

Foster structured global-local collaboration, feedback mechanisms, and performance tracking.

Lead global medical reviews and forums to monitor local execution, gaps, and scientific insights.
Cross-functional & Stakeholder Alignment

Co-lead with Global Marketing to develop and execute a unified medical-marketing strategy.

Align with Regulatory, Market Access, Safety, Clinical Development, and Digital to support scientific and operational goals.

Represent medical affairs in global governance forums and scientific strategy boards.
External Engagement & Scientific Leadership

Lead external engagement with international KOLs, scientific societies, advocacy groups, and research networks.

Oversee the scientific presence at global congresses, advisory boards, and symposia.

Ensure compliance-driven external communication and scientific exchange.
Evidence generation & medical insights

Drive data generation plans (Phase IV, RWE, registries, IIS proposals) in collaboration with clinical and HEOR teams.

Integrate insights from affiliates, HCPs, patients, and competitors into medical strategies.

Maintain up-to-date awareness of the competitive and scientific landscape.

3. JOB PROFILE
Qualifications and professional experience:
- Advanced degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or Life Sciences (MD, PhD or PharmD preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in medical affairs (local and global), ideally within oncology or rare diseases
- Experience in evidence generation, external engagement, and scientific strategy
- Proven leadership in cross-functional, cross-regional teams in matrix environments
