1. FUNCTIONAL CONTENT
Main Role
The role leads Portfolio Optimization across the Pharma Business as well as supports prioritization of portfolio growth and improvement initiatives.
In the Portfolio Optimization domain, he/she will drive and coordinate the execution of margin improvement, SKU simplification, and complexity reduction initiatives through robust strategic and business value prioritization and business case development. He/she will also define and executes divestment strategies for non-strategic or underperforming assets, ensuring cross-functional delivery and business impact tracking.
Additionally, he/she will support Project Portfolio Management (PPM) by enabling clear prioritization and structured go/no-go decisions for portfolio growth & improvement initiatives as aligned with global strategic priorities. Success in this role requires strong strategic vision, analytical skills, and the ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across functions.
Roles
Portfolio Optimization:
- Lead transversal initiatives aimed at improving portfolio margins and profitability.
- Drive SKU simplification and complexity reduction.
- Partner with Finance and Supply to improve margin contribution and capital efficiency.
- Develop robust business cases and strategic assessments to prioritize, validate optimization initiatives.
Divestment & Portfolio Reshaping
- Identify non-strategic, low-margin, or underperforming assets.
- Propose divestment strategies and develop business cases for final decision-making
- Coordinate cross-functional execution of approved divestments (Commercial, Supply, Regulatory, Finance, Legal).
- Support local affiliates during transition and implementation.
- Ensure financial and operational impact is tracked and delivered post-divestment.
Project Portfolio Management
- Support Global Functions in the prioritization and project approval process.
- Provide structured assessment and challenge during go/no-go decisions to ensure resource allocation is aligned with global strategic priorities.
Strategic Portfolio Plan
- Identify optimization opportunities in our 5-year strategic plan and strategic investment reallocations.
- Contribute to the development and continuous optimization of the strategic portfolio roadmap.
- Provide analytical insights to improve portfolio focus, margin, and resource efficiency.
Governance & Stakeholder Management
- Lead project portfolio governance to ensure clear prioritization, resource alignment, and disciplined decision-making.
- Provide Senior Leadership with clear visibility on portfolio performance, risks, and value delivery through data-driven reporting.

3. JOB PROFILE
Required Studies
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
Other specialized knowledge
- Strong long-term vision and strategic thinking, with the ability to translate strategy into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in portfolio management and reporting tools (eg. PowerBI, advanced Excel level)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Professional experience
- 3–5 years of experience in strategy consulting within the Life Sciences industry, or in a comparable strategic role in a healthcare/pharma organization.
