1.FUNCTIONAL CONTENT 

Main Role

As a Tax Specialist you will be responsible for managing and planning tax obligations of the group companies. The position requires the use of in-depth knowledge of tax laws, rules, and regulations to provide advice and guidance on tax-related matters. Duties include assessing and evaluating financial records to determine tax liability, preparing and filing tax returns in compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, and offering tax advice and strategies to minimize tax liabilities. Also, you will need to keep updated on current tax laws and regulations, work with tax software and databases, conduct tax research to resolve issues, represent the companies during tax audits, and assist in financial planning activities with tax implications.

The ideal candidate for this role should have proven work experience as a Tax Specialist or Tax Analyst, a deep understanding of tax codes, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to keep abreast of the latest changes in tax legislation. 

Roles

  • Relationship with tax advisors in Spain and internationally.
  • Tax consolidation of the group in Spain: Support in managing the VAT and Corporate Income Tax calculation and returns of the consolidated Spanish group and individual returns.
  • Spanish tax legislation: Ongoing training in tax legislation.
  • Ad-hoc advice and opinions: tax support and advice to the entire group organization.
  • Response to tax authorities' requests: provide an adequate response in a timely manner to the requests and/or requirements issued by the Tax Agency for any Spanish company of the group.
  • International Taxation:
    • Advice on international taxation matters.
    • Management of tax-related issues with subsidiary managers and international local advisors.
    • Review of tax returns of international subsidiaries with the assistance of local advisors.
    • Monitoring international tax compliance of all international companies.
  • Participation in tax audits of the Spanish group.
  • Support in M&A transactions and in internal reestructuring.
  • Advice in Pillar II calculation and analysis.
  • Support on financial planning activities with tax implications.
  • Experience in Transfer Pricing required.

3.JOB PROFILE

Required Studies: 

  • Bachelor degree in Law or Economics/Business Administration.

Other specialized knowledge:

  • Master in Tax matters, is a plus
  • Microsoft office suite (Excel is a must)

Languages:

  • Fluent in Spanish & English (3rd European or Chinese language a plus)

Professional Experience:

  • 3-4 Years of experience as a Tax Specialist or Tax Analyst in a professional firm
  • Transfer pricing experience required
