  1. FUNCTIONAL CONTENT

 

Main Role

 

As the Medical and Patient Engagement Lead at ESTEVE Portugal you will lead the development and execution of medical strategies and plans specifically in the assigned therapeutic areas. Reporting to the Country Medical Director Iberia, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of medical activities with commercial objectives. Your role will involve engaging with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and patient advocacy groups to advance medical understanding and support the positioning of ESTEVE’s medicines.

 

Roles

 

  • Medical Strategy and Plan Development:
    • Develop and implement medical strategies and plans for the targeted indications and Therapeutic area.
    • Ensure alignment of medical strategies with business priorities to support product differentiation and market penetration.
    • KOL and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Establish and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), medical associations, and healthcare professionals in the TA and indications assigned.
    • Gather insights into treatment paradigms, unmet medical needs, and disease management strategies to inform medical initiatives.
  • Patient Advocacy and Engagement:
    • Engage with patient advocacy groups and organizations to understand patient perspectives, needs, and challenges within the TA and indications assigned.
    • Advocate for patient voices and insights in the development of medical strategies, clinical programs, and patient support initiatives.
  • Educational Initiatives and Scientific Support:
    • Develop and implement educational initiatives for KOLs, healthcare professionals, and patient advocacy groups to enhance understanding of disease areas and treatment options.
    • Provide scientific support and expertise to internal stakeholders and external partners on ESTEVE’s medicines and therapeutic areas.
  • Compliance and Ethical Standards:
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and ethical standards in all medical affairs activities and communications.
    • Uphold a culture of integrity, transparency, and scientific rigor within the medical affairs team.

 

2. JOB PROFILE

 

Required Studies

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences
  • Master Degree and/or PhD will be valuable

 

Other specialized knowledge

 

  • Strong understanding of medical and scientific principles and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
  • On the field requirement: dedication of approx. 50 - 60% time-share to drive local KOLs agenda and meetings + Medical Events & international HQ Meetings

 

Languages

 

  • Portuguese (Native)
  • English (Advanced)
  • Other languages will be a plus

 

Professional Experience

 

  • 7+ years of experience in medical affairs, clinical development, or related roles within the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus in the TA and indications assigned.
